As fellow founders & leaders, we know how challenging it can be at the top. Challenges you’re often not able to speak to your colleagues, investors, board members, partner or co-founder about - so as not to worry them.To solve this many successful founders we know use Peer Groups as a way to sanity check decisions, help with accountability, and keep them motivated on this long journey of building and growing your business.While it’s already common to find Peer Groups’s amongst Global CEO’s & High Net Worth Individuals, here at United Founders we are looking to bring this to every leader who wants to have a squad who can provide them feedback & support as you grow your business.

What Is A Founder Peer Group?

A “Peer Group” may be defined as the:“Coordination of knowledge and effort, in a spirit of harmony, between two or more people, for the attainment of a definite purpose.”— Napoleon Hill, Think And Grow Rich, 1937Peer Groups are small groups of people that have similar experiences, challenges, and trajectories in their businesses. Quite simply, they are the embodiment of the phrase: Two (or more) minds are better than one.

What Are The Benefits?

There are three clear benefits of being a part of a Peer Group:

How United Founders will help you form a Peer Group?

1) You Complete our Peer Group Application

As a first step we ask you to complete a questionnaire that helps us get a feel for your experience level, expectations, work + personality styles, and other key criteria that allows us to make informed matches.

2) We Hand Select Peer Group Members

Based on your application & past conversations we've had with you during the application process we put together a small group of members that we feel have the best chance of connecting on a meaningful level.

3) We Help Moderate The First Meeting For You

Once we have put together groups of 6 founders, we will help schedule a meeting time that works for you all, give you the Peer Group sheet to complete & then help moderate the first meeting so you understand how all the different parts work! After that its over to you!

4) You're Off!

Now that you understand how the format of the meeting works & you have your completed Peer Group tracker - its then up to you & your peer group members to meet every 6 weeks!

Peer Group FAQs

How many people will there be in my Peer Group?

There are many opinions on this — some organizations will consider their entire c-suite members of their “Senior Leadership Circle”. Some communities will establish Peer Groups of 10-20 people, but in those cases the focus is less on the individual and more focused on lifting all boats.Here at United Founders— we recommend groups of six. This allows you to hear a few different perspectives, but is still familiar enough that you can maintain a sense of focus on one another. And if a peer group has more members than this - people may find they are not getting enough individual attention.

How often will we meet?

While this is something that ultimately you can decide depending on what each of your members can achieve between each session.We find that meeting every six weeks for longer 3-4 hours allows you to be able to deeply get to know your fellow members, while still being something that you can fit into your busy schedule & becomes a meeting you really look forward to.

What happens if I don't match with my fellow Peer Group members?

Sometimes things just don’t work out. Personalities may not be a match, people may not be able to make meetings anymore, it just may not be the right fit. Our suggestion: give it another shot. Be a bit more vulnerable. Give a little bit more.If it just doesn’t seem to be working,then your group may just need to part ways. Don’t take it personally — you can still have a meaningful relationship if the professional relationship isn’t it for you. If this is the case, you can email us and we’ll rematch you in a new Peer Group as long as your are still a member of United Founders.

What happens if I can't make Peer Group meetings?

Our aim is for buy-in. If you apply, you should be committed to this process.If you quit, are unresponsive, or are otherwise not committed to joining the meetings however, we will simply replace you with another member & not set you up with another group.

To complete your application for United Founders please first complete the below:

When completing this form please play particular attention to the About You / Two Things You’d Like to Gain / Two Things You'd Like To Contribute questions. As we will use these answers in your member introduction & in the member directory, everything else will be kept private.After completing this form, please then schedule an Application Review Call where we review your Application while helping answer any questions you may have about United Founders.

2. Understand how our Community Groups Work

If your application is successful we will add you to four WhatsApp Groups all of which have different purposes & guidelines:1) UF - Member Introductions: Here is where we introduce all new founders joining United Founders. Please do welcome them & direct message them if you'd like to arrange a meeting. If the group is too noisy for you please do bear in mind there is also a quieter UF - Member Introductions (Read only) group which you can join instead.2) UF - Business Questions: Here you can ask business related questions that our community members can help you answer based on their experience. Or if they can't, introduce you to individuals within their network who can offer further assistance.3) UF - Event Updates: On this read only group we will share upcoming event details & reminders about our weekly events.4) UF - Promos & Misc Chats Here you are allowed/encouraged to share your companies promotions, events, news, etc. as well as any content you find interesting, plus where you can also invite fellow members to grab drinks/dinner, play tennis, etc.Please note while we expect all members to be a part of the Introduction & Announcement group, not all members may necessarily want to be a part of the Business Questions or Promo groups as they can become a little noisy at times. Hence if thats you please feel free to simply remove yourself from these groups as necessary,Finally, to maintain a positive environment, please refrain from being overly promotional or excessively focused on selling to your fellow members. As it's important we foster a collaborative atmosphere where members can freely exchange ideas and support one another. Failure to comply with these guidelines & formal warnings may result in the revoking of your United Founders membership.

For United Founders' first large founder event of 2024, we are honored to welcome Prof. Bambang Brodjonegoro, an esteemed Indonesian economist and former Minister of Finance of Indonesia, for a fireside talk at Potato Head’s Studio Eksotika, followed by sunset drinks & Western BBQ at Potato Head's Sunset Park.Prof. Brodjonegoro began his academic journey after graduating with a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Indonesia, followed by a Masters and PhD in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Upon returning to the University of Indonesia, he then rose to become the Dean of the Faculty of Economics in 2005.Over the next two decades, he devoted his expertise to Indonesia in various governmental roles. Most notably, serving as Minister of Finance from 2014 to 2016 in President Joko Widodo's first cabinet. Where during his tenure, he initiated Indonesia's first Tax Amnesty scheme and designed an improved budget spending approach by allocating the first direct transfer to all 74,000 villages in Indonesia.Subsequently, he served as Minister of National Development Planning (PPN) and Head of the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) from 2016 to 2019. Where among his notable achievements was planning and designing the concept of a new capital city for Indonesia, IKN. Later, as Minister of Research and Technology and Head of the National Research and Innovation Agency from 2019 to 2021, he spearheaded the development of the National COVID-19 Vaccine.After his ministerial activities and having setup his own executive offices - many companies and government institutions, due to his expertise in Development Economics & Urban Planning now trust him to sit on the board of commissioners. So at the age of 14 he decided to do something about it and started cleaning up the beaches.13 years later, Gary Bencheghib and his two siblings are now on a full mission to clean Indonesia’s rivers with Sungai Watch – a team of river warriors working to create solutions to water pollution across the island.Within the first 16 months, the 55 120 strong team has installed 130 180 trash barriers in Bali’s rivers, and diverted over 430,000 700,000 kilos of trash.
