The Founder's Consigliere
Unlimited Strategic Support – IDR 43.4 Mio
You're building something that matters. Maybe you're scaling. Maybe you're stuck. Maybe you're three years from an exit and want to do it right. Maybe you're just alone at the top. This service is for founders who want real, experienced advice, without the USD 60,000 executive-coach price tag.You don't need a full-time advisor. You need a founder's consigliere: someone who's been where you are, understands the pressure, and helps you build a business worth running, and worth selling when the time comes. If you're in the arena, I'm in your corner.
Unlimited Support, One Flat Fee
From the moment you sign up, you get direct access to me. No limits, no clock-watching. Just clear, strategic support whenever you need it.
We start with a 2-hour in-person onboarding to deeply understand you, your business, and what you're actually building toward. From there, you can book unlimited calls through a private calendar link, and we'll work through whatever decisions or questions you're facing, together.I'll share every playbook, shortcut, and hard-earned lesson I've picked up building four companies across Southeast Asia and advising hundreds of founders. As a Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA), I'll also bring a structured lens to long-term value creation, so the work we do compounds, whether or not an exit is on your horizon. You'll also get fast-track introductions to vetted founders, operators, and investors, built through years of hands-on work and thousands of real conversations. I speak with over 200 founders each month, giving me a live read on what's working, where capital's flowing, and who can actually help. These warm intros cut through the noise.Consigliere members are automatically enrolled in our Peer Groups program at no extra cost. That gives you a curated table of founders who meet monthly for structured accountability, candid problem-solving, and the kind of growth that only comes from sitting alongside people working through the same questions you are. The 1:1 work we do together gets sharper when there's a peer group reinforcing it month after month. It's a flat fee of IDR 43.4 Mio for 12 months of personal, on-call guidance, plus your Peer Group seat. There are 10 spots per cohort. Once they're full, the waitlist opens for the next one.
Structured Planning, From Day One
Most of our work will be reactive: the call you need this week about a hire, a partner, a pricing decision, a board conversation. That's the heart of what this service is.But reactive work is only as good as the foundation it's built on. So we start by laying that foundation together. In our 3-hour onboarding session, we'll work through three structured exercises, drawn from the same CEPA-aligned toolkit I use with founders preparing for exit:
Personal Goal Setting: Clarify what you're building toward, across what drives you, what you want to own, what you want to experience, and who you want around you.
Wealth Gap Analysis: Map the gap between where you are today and what your business needs to deliver to fund the life you want.
Business Health Assessment: A scored assessment across six areas of your business showing where you're strong, where you're exposed, and what to prioritise now.
This becomes our shared reference point. Every call after that lands inside a clear picture of what success looks like for you, what the business needs to deliver, and where the gaps are. When a tough decision comes up six months in, we're not starting from scratch. We're checking it against what you said mattered most. We'll revisit and update the exercises as things change, usually a couple of times a year, or whenever a major decision warrants pulling the lens back.
Why I Offer This
Over the years, multiple founders have told me they wanted deeper, more strategic conversations than the United Founders membership was designed for: direct access when big decisions came up, space to think through complex issues, and honest advice from someone who'd actually built businesses and helped guide exits.A growing number wanted help getting their company into shape for a future sale or capital raise, sometimes one to five years out. Others wanted help navigating investor conversations, hiring moves, partnerships, pivots, and warm introductions to the people who could actually move things forward. So I created this for founders who want to go deeper. You get unlimited access to me as your advisor, sounding board, and connector, your seat in a monthly Peer Group, plus the structured tools to make sure the business you're building today will hold up to whatever you ask of it tomorrow.
Who Am I
My name is Patrick Searle. Over the past 15 years, I've built four businesses across Southeast Asia, collectively employing over 300 people and generating over USD 30 million in revenue. In all of them, I was in the trenches from day one: driving product, hiring and firing, setting up operations, raising and exiting, navigating tough conversations, and making the calls that don't show up in playbooks.Today, I run United Founders, a 450+ member community of Bali's most successful founders and leaders, and Bali Capital Connect, a platform linking founders with capital, with 1,400+ members and 360+ investor introductions completed in under a year.I'm a Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA). The work I do increasingly sits at the intersection of founder support, capital connection, and exit planning: helping entrepreneurs build significant, exit-ready companies that support their ideal life.Exceptional exits are rarely accidental. They're designed, through disciplined preparation, thoughtful structuring, and the right partnerships. Whether you're three years out or twelve, the decisions you make today determine the leverage you'll have when it matters.I speak with hundreds of founders, operators, and investors every week. It gives me a clear read on where momentum is building and which strategies are actually working, across stages, industries, and deal sizes. This isn't just what I do. It's what I live. I know the weight of the decisions, the loneliness at the top, and the pressure to always have the answers. Sometimes what makes the difference is having someone in your corner who genuinely gets it.
Areas I Can Help You With
Strategy & Leadership: Spotting market shifts, launching new ventures, leading teams through pressure. I can help you identify real opportunities, craft go-to-market and pricing strategies, and align your mission so you can lead with clarity and build teams that rally around your vision.
Product Development & New Offerings: Premium service offerings that closed corporate clients and won multimillion-dollar retainers, MVPs that went from bootstrap to profitability, complex tech platforms, workflow automation. If you're building something new, I can help you move fast, validate smart, and launch with precision.
Marketing & Sales. Worked with Unilever, P&G, Coca-Cola, Indofood, Mercedes, and Nike on digital strategy across SEA. Supported 1,500+ corporate clients. Trained 10,000+ marketers. Generated $10M+ in annual sales through brand positioning, content, events, landing pages, whitepapers, and B2B sales structures that convert.
Team Building & Hiring: Personally hired 150+ people, interviewed 1,000+. I can help you design recruitment pipelines, retention systems, onboarding, 1:1s, transparent salary bands, and the kind of culture loyal high performers want to stay in.
Operations & Scaling: Scaled businesses across borders with teams in multiple time zones. Top-down clarity, bottom-up visibility, dashboards, SOPs, and automated workflows that keep things moving when you're not in the room.
Exit Readiness & Liquidity Events: As a CEPA, I help founders systematically increase enterprise value, reduce key-person dependence, clean up financials, and structure their business so it commands premium valuations and clears due diligence cleanly. Whether you're targeting a strategic sale, a financial buyer, or a partial liquidity event, the work that captures real value starts years before the deal, not weeks before.
Fundraising & Capital: Raised venture capital, advised on eight M&A transactions, and helped dozens of founders raise capital and secure working loans. I know how to craft a compelling investor story, build deal momentum, and negotiate terms that drive long-term value.
Navigating Southeast Asia & Indonesia: 20+ years across Asia, 15+ in Indonesia. It's rarely about process on paper here. It's about nuance, relationships, trust, and timing. I can help you navigate local business culture, unlock hidden opportunities, and build the credibility that actually moves deals forward.
Failing, So You Don't Have To: I've made painful mistakes: bad hires, broken partnerships, deals that went sideways. Those experiences became playbooks. I can help you sidestep common traps and handle hard moments with clarity, so you learn from my scars instead of earning your own.
Work-Life Balance & Mental Clarity: Through United Founders and my own failures, I've mentored 300+ founders. I've seen how easy it is to burn out, isolate, or carry the weight alone. I can help you build the habits, systems, and personal boundaries that protect your energy, so you stay clear, focused, and in control when it matters.
And More: If I've done it, I can advise on it. If it's outside my lane (property, legal, tax, deep finance) I'll connect you to someone trusted. You're not just getting my experience. You're getting access to my network.
FAQs
How does this work?
Once you sign up, you'll get a calendar link to book calls whenever you want. I keep notes after each one so we pick up where we left off. Where it helps, I'll suggest people in my network: investors, experts, founders solving similar problems in real time.
Is this really unlimited?
Yes, within reason. Book as many calls as you need throughout the year. If the pace ever feels unsustainable, we'll have an honest conversation. The spirit is simple: when you need support, I'll be there. No clock-watching, no extra charges.
Can I book multiple or recurring calls in advance?
Not in advance, but after each call you're welcome to book the next one. Booking one at a time keeps me available when it really counts: when you've got a burning question or a big decision to make.
Can I simply message you on Whatsapp?
Yes. But if a thread runs longer than a quick back-and-forth, I'll suggest we jump on a call. It's usually faster.
Can you review content, links, or decks in advance?
Happy to review. If it's more than a 5-minute read, we'll cover it on a call so I can walk you through the feedback in real time.
What's included with the Peer Group?
Your Consigliere membership includes a full seat in our Peer Groups program. You'll be matched into a small, curated group of founders at a comparable stage and meet monthly for structured accountability, peer problem-solving, and the planning exercises described above. Most members find the 1:1 work and the peer dynamic compound on each other: the group surfaces the issues, and our calls go deeper on the ones that matter most to you.
What does CEPA mean for me, practically?
The Certified Exit Planning Advisor credential is issued by the Exit Planning Institute. It means I bring more than war stories. I bring a disciplined approach to making your business more valuable, more transferable, and more resilient. Whether or not you ever sell, the same disciplines that prepare a company for a successful exit also make it a better business to run.
Do I need to be planning an exit to benefit?
No. Most of the founders I work with aren't selling next year. They want to build something that could sell, on their terms, when they're ready. The exit-readiness lens is just the most rigorous version of good business planning.
How do the planning exercises fit in?
They're optional and unscheduled. We run them when the timing's right: usually when you're at an inflection point, between cycles, or quietly aware that the day-to-day has crowded out the bigger questions. Most founders do one or two of the three within their 12 months. You set the pace.
Is there an NDA or confidentiality agreement?
Yes. Trust is everything here. We sign a mutual NDA before we begin. You'll also have full transparency: if I ever recommend an advisor, agency, or investor, I'll disclose any referral fees or existing relationships.
How is this different from a Executive Coach?
Most executive coaches work within a fixed structure: mindset tools, frameworks, scheduled hours. It can get expensive, and it's often not adaptable to what you actually need, when you need it.This is founder-to-founder. Practical, real-time, and built for the messy middle: scaling fast, facing tough calls, getting a business exit-ready, or just needing someone who's been there to talk things through. If you ever need something more intense (deep therapy, trauma work, high-performance coaching) I'll be the first to tell you, and I'll suggest names.
Why do you only work with individual founders—not companies or teams?
The biggest decisions founders face are rarely made by teams. This service is built for the personal, high-stakes stuff: moments of doubt, pivots, tough calls, exit conversations, leadership pressure that can't always be shared with your team. If you're the one carrying the weight, this is designed for you.
Is there a refund policy?
Absolutely. If you're not 100% happy, reply to your email receipt within 90 days for a full refund. No questions asked. Even if you've had calls, you'll still get your money back.
This sounds too good to be true—is it?
Maybe. I believe the model works. If it ever becomes unsustainable, I'll adjust the pricing or cohort numbers. For now I'm focused on helping a handful of founders the way I wish someone had helped me.
There are only 10 spots available per cohort. Once they’re full, the waitlist opens for the next one. If this sounds like the support you’ve been missing, secure your spot before the cohort fills up.

Stop Making High-Stakes Decisions Alone
As your business grows, honest conversation becomes harder to find. You can't speak openly with employees without creating uncertainty, with investors without creating doubt, or with your life partner without creating unnecessary worry. The more responsibility you carry, the fewer people you can speak freely with.Peer Groups solve this by giving you a private, confidential circle of leaders who truly understand the weight you carry, so you can think more clearly and act with confidence.
You're Not Alone, But You Probably Feel Like You Are.
Research consistently shows what most founders already know but rarely say out loud:
61% of CEOs report feeling lonely or isolated in their role & say it directly harms their performance (RHR International / Harvard Business Review)
72% of entrepreneurs report being impacted by a mental health condition during their journey (Freeman et al., UCSF / Small Business Economics, 2018)
But it doesn't have to stay that way. Across peer group organisations worldwide, the data tells the same story: leaders who join structured peer groups consistently outperform those who don't with revenue growing 214% faster than their peers (Stein + Partners / Chief Executive Network Study). You can continue carrying the full weight of leadership alone, or you can think it through with people operating at your level.
What Is a Peer Group?
A Peer Group is a small, private group of 6 leaders matched by business stage, ambition, and current challenges. You meet every six weeks in a structured, confidential environment to work through real decisions together: decisions that affect your company, your team, and your life.Members share real experiences. No ego, no performance. Just direct, honest conversation with people who understand the context. You stay in control of your decisions, and you make better ones. This model has been used for decades by leading global peer organisations and thousands of high-performing founders worldwide. It works because trust compounds, and better thinking leads to better outcomes.
Three Things That Change When You Stop Going It Alone
Growth
Surrounding yourself with people who can give informed, honest feedback (not the filtered version your team or investors offer) puts you in a position to make decisions that actually move the business forward. Faster.
Accountability
You set a goal. You report back. Every six weeks, you sit in front of people who remember what you committed to. The group becomes your most reliable forcing function, not because they push you, but because you don't want to let them down.
Mental Clarity
Leadership isolation compounds quietly. Peer Groups give you a room where you can speak openly about the real pressure, without worrying about what it does to confidence in your team, your investors, or your family. The relief is immediate.
Who Is This For?
United Founders Peer Groups are designed for founders and business leaders running real, revenue-generating businesses from $100K to $100M+, where the cost of getting decisions wrong is high. You're past the stage of just getting by. The stakes are higher, the problems are more complex, and how you think matters more than how many hours you put in.This is for you if:
You're carrying responsibility that few people around you truly understand
You can't speak openly with your team, investors, life partner, or board without creating uncertainty
You want honest feedback, not filtered reassurance
You can commit to showing up every six weeks, prepared and ready to contribute
You know that the quality of your thinking matters more than the hours you put in
Not for pre-revenue founders, or anyone who can't commit consistently. The group only works when every member shows up and follows through.
What Leaders Say About Peer Groups
"Joining a peer group was the highest-impact decision I ever made. My business growth exploded." — Michael Girdley, Founder, CEO & Investor“Because of my peer group, I now have a trusted group that I feel comfortable both shooting the shit with and talking through the really ugly, messy parts with.” — Cassandra Worthy, Founder, Change Enthusiasm Global"The main value I receive is unconditional support from people who get what it's like to be an entrepreneur." — Natalia Matveeva, Co-Founder, Realore Studios“My Peer group has been inspiring and pushed me to see opportunities I would have missed on my own. Something special is being built here, and I’m thankful to be a part of it.” — Alex Daniels, Co-Founder, Haven Lifestyles"You cannot Google 'What am I not doing that I should be doing?" — Brian Lauducci, CEO, Paylock IPT
How We Match You With the Right Leaders
The quality of your group shapes the quality of your outcomes. Every placement is reviewed by United Founders leadership to ensure the group is aligned and built to last. You'll be matched within one of five tiers based on your current level of complexity and pressure:
Builders: Early growth stage
Scalers: Actively scaling
Mature Leaders: Established, complex operations
Advanced Leaders: High-stakes, high-complexity decisions
Grand Founders: Founders who have exited a business for USD 10M+
How You Go From Application to Momentum
Step 1: Complete the Application:
A detailed questionnaire covering revenue, team size, structure, experience, and growth ambition. This gives us what we need to make a match that actually holds.
Step 2: We Build Your Group:
Six founders, placed into the right tier. We prioritise fit over speed. If there's a short wait, it's because we're doing this properly.
Step 3: First Session, Moderated:
Your first meeting is run by a United Founders moderator who sets the structure, tone, and format. During that session, the group selects a Group Lead to run things from session two onward.
Step 4: Every Six Weeks, It Compounds:
By session three, groups find their rhythm. Conversations become direct, trust deepens, and the quality of decisions improves noticeably. There is no fixed end date. The longer you stay together, the more valuable it becomes.
What Happens in Each Session
Each session follows a structured format to drive clarity, depth, and action. Meetings are held in person, last around 3 hours, and are led by an agreed-upon Group Lead.
Check-In (5 min): A short personal round, 30 seconds each, to build presence and trust before the real work begins.
Accountability (1 hour): Up to 10 minutes each to review your Accountability Tracker, a self-score across Health, Work, Play, and Love (based on the Stanford Designing Your Life framework) with SMART goals set the previous session. Track whether decisions turned into action. If they didn't, understand why.
Big Questions (2 hours): Each member brings the single most important decision or challenge on their mind, up to 20 minutes each. The group asks questions, shares relevant experience, and helps brainstorm a way forward, ending with a SMART commitment to act on before the next session.
Wrap-Up (5 min): Lock in the date, time, and venue for the next meeting before leaving. Close with a quick review of what worked and what didn't.
Every session ends with clarity, commitment, and a date in the calendar.
Three Times a Year, You Zoom Out
Once your group has completed three sessions, a set of structured Personal & Business Planning Exercises becomes available to be used whenever the time is right. Most groups fold one into a regular session by extending it an extra hour. There is no fixed schedule. Your group decides when.Where the regular session focuses on the decisions in front of you today, this extra hour pulls the lens back to the bigger question: what does success actually look like?Three exercises, spread across the year:
Personal Goal Setting: Clarify what you're building toward, across what drives you, what you want to own, what you want to experience, and who you want around you.
Wealth Gap Analysis: Map the gap between where you are today and what your business needs to deliver to fund the life you want.
Business Health Assessment: A scored assessment across six areas of your business showing where you are strong, where you are exposed, and what to prioritise now.
The exercises are structured enough to run themselves. The value comes from doing them alongside people who know your business, will push back on vague answers, and are working through the same questions themselves.

Frequently Asked Questions
How often does the group meet?
Every six weeks, in person, for around three hours. Block half a day every six weeks. That's the full investment.
What kind of topics can be discussed?
Anything relevant to your role as a leader: growth, hiring, leadership, fundraising, operations, partnerships, or personal challenges. The value comes from discussing real situations with people who understand the context.
Who leads the sessions?
The first session is moderated by United Founders to set the structure. During that session, the group selects a Group Lead from the members to run all future meetings.
In person or online?
We find in-person creates better conversations — easier to build trust, go deeper, and get to the kind of relationships where people tell you the truth. That said, if everyone agrees, online works too, as long as everyone is fully present. Though if you go online regularly, we'd still encourage bi-annual in-person sessions to keep the connection strong. The one setup to avoid is hybrid, where most of the group is in the room and one person dials in. As from experience, it never really works - either everyone is in the room, or everyone is online.
Should we ever make a session into more of an event?
Yes. Twice a year we encourage groups to go beyond the meeting itself: a shared dinner, a weekend away, or an activity around the session. It sounds simple, but the conversations that happen outside the room are often as valuable as the ones inside it.
What if I can't make a session?
While we suggest you do your very best to make every meeting, occasional absences happen and we get it, so if something does come up, just let your group know as early as you can (they may be able to be flexible here). What matters however is consistency over time, so if missing sessions becomes a regular pattern, it may make more sense to step away from the group.
What are the Personal & Business Planning Exercises?
Three times a year, your group adds an extra hour to its regular session to work through a structured exercise that shifts focus from today's decisions to the longer arc of what you're building. Covering Personal Goal Setting, Wealth Gap Analysis, and Business Planning, these are self-facilitated using a structured format.
What if the group isn't the right fit?
Attend at least two or three sessions first. Early sessions are still trust-building. If it's genuinely not working after that, we'll review options and find a better placement.
What happens if a member leaves?
Groups can continue with five members. If numbers drop further, a new member who fits is brought in. A fresh perspective at the right stage can actually strengthen the group.
Can I join with a co-founder?
Yes, but co-founders are placed in a separate group to keep perspectives broad and conversations honest. Please note for Peer Groups, the Buy One Get One Community Plan deal does not apply, so one/both of you would need to upgrade separately to be placed into a peer group.
Can members do business with each other?
We'd recommend you try not to, as these groups are built for honest conversation, and the moment people start selling, hiring, or partnering with each other, the dynamic can shift and candour can drop. Of course natural collaborations do happen over time, but this group should be more about your personal growth than new business opportunity.
When does my group end?
There is no fixed end date. The longer a group stays together, the more valuable it becomes. Trust compounds over time.
Is this networking?
No. This is not networking or surface-level conversation. It's a consistent group of founders working through real challenges together. The value comes from trust and context built over time.
Who is this not for?
Pre-revenue founders, or anyone who can't commit consistently. The group only works when every member shows up prepared and follows through.

This helps establish credibility with fellow members.
Paragraph 2: Talk about what you're currently working on at [XXX] and what excites you about your business or projects.
Paragraph 3: Give a glimpse into your life outside of work—your interests, aspirations, or anything that makes you more relatable. Please prioritise this! Without completing these steps, members won’t know who you are, and you won’t be able to fully experience everything United Founders has to offer.

Running For Rivers: Acara Penggalangan Dana & Fireside Chat bersama Gary, Sam & Kelly Bencheghib
Kampanye ini dibangun di atas prinsip sederhana: $1 donated = 1 kg of plastic removed from rivers.
Strategi di balik ekspedisi Run for Rivers sejauh 1.200 km melintasi Pulau Jawa

Plastic pollution has become one of the defining environmental challenges of our time, and Indonesia now sits at the center of that global crisis. With an estimated 64–70 million tons of waste generated annually and more than 11 million tons left unmanaged, the scale of the challenge is immense. Much of this waste ultimately finds its way into rivers and oceans, making Indonesia one of the most critical battlegrounds in the fight against global plastic pollution. And yet, some of the most impactful solutions are being built right here in Bali. That’s why for this quarter’s Impact Fireside Event, we're excited to welcome Gary, Sam & Kelly Bencheghib, Co-Founders of Sungai Watch, on Thursday, 26th March from 4:30–7:00pm at Amalfi Restaurant, FINNS Beach Club, for an in-depth conversation on how grassroots activism has evolved into one of Indonesia’s most influential environmental movements. For those unfamiliar, Sungai Watch began as a small initiative focused on documenting river pollution in Bali. In just a few years, it has grown into one of the country’s most visible environmental organizations. Since launching in 2020, the team has installed over 380 river barriers, organized more than 2,400 cleanups, and removed over 4.2 million kilograms of waste from rivers, mangroves, and coastlines across Indonesia. Now the team is preparing for their most ambitious initiative yet: Run for Rivers 2026.Over the course of 57 days, Gary, Sam, and Kelly will run 1,200 kilometers across Java, mobilizing communities, documenting the reality of river pollution, and raising funds for Indonesia’s largest river cleanup movement. The campaign is built around a simple principle: $1 donated = 1 kg of plastic removed from rivers. At the heart of this movement is a powerful combination of storytelling, activism, and operational execution. What began as a mission to raise awareness has evolved into a large-scale environmental operation focused on creating real, measurable change while inspiring communities, businesses, and governments to become part of the solution.During the session, they will share insights on:
How Sungai Watch evolved from activism into an operational organization tackling river pollution at scale
The reality of Indonesia’s waste management challenge and where real change must happen
The strategy behind the Run for Rivers 1,200 km expedition across Java
Mobilizing communities, governments, and global audiences through storytelling and action
What it takes to turn awareness into measurable environmental impact
Following on from the talk, we'll then conclude the evening with networking drinks & Food kindly sponsored by FINNS, providing the perfect setting to network and forge meaningful connections with other founders & leaders. There will be a small ticket fee to attend, with all proceeds donated directly to Sungai Watch in support of their Run for Rivers campaign, helping fund their continued efforts to protect and restore Bali’s waterways.Looking forward to seeing many of you there as we discuss what is arguably one of the most urgent environmental challenges facing Bali, Indonesia, and our shared oceans today.

How Nuanu City Wants To Change The Way We Live
With Sergey Solonin, Founder of Nuanu City & Johannes Weissenbeck, Founder of OXO Group
When it comes to Bali's urban development, many feel there is a certain inevitability as to how things will play out. With the island's hungry tourism industry leading to the continual sprawl along the South coast, combined with traffic jams, shoddy construction and a general feeling that things are developing faster than the island can keep up with. The Nuanu & OXO team however believes there is another way! They believe that by looking ahead, partnering with Pantai Nyanyi land owners, and by leading by example in the form of a 50-hectare development titled Nuanu City - that they can build a sustainable ecosystem where people-built infrastructure, nature, organisations, and economies work in harmony together to create something greater than each part.Ambitious? Yes! Crazy? Quite possibly. Inspiring? Hugely so!So much so for this Quarter’s large United Founder event we are incredibly fortunate to have Sergey Solonin, Founder of Nuanu & Johannes Weissenbeck, Founder of OXO joining us to talk more about:

Fireside Chat, Drinks & Canapés with Dare Jennings, Founder of Deus Ex Machina & Mambo
Reserve Your Ticket : USD40-60
For this month's United Founders event we are fortunate enough to welcome Dare Jennings, Founder of Deus Ex Machina & Mambo to join us for a Fireside Chat, Drinks & Canapés at Mason, Canggu.Dare's business savvy comes from a wild and intuitive place. A truly maverick entrepreneur, Jennings doesn't know (or care!) if his ideas or business methodologies are right or wrong by conventional standards. He simply knows what he does and has the strength of character to back his own plays. Now in his 70's (and still backing himself), Dare is once again the head of an international counter-culture brand, Deus Ex Machina. Starting as an almost whimsically retro motorbike shop in Sydney's inner west, Deus has now spread throughout four continents with stores in Australia, the U.S., Indonesia and Italy.Aside from the incredible fact of an Australian selling Italian style motorbikes to Italians, Dare has once again leveraged the cultural history of surfing, combined with the ideals of the road warrior to create an enduring and engaging lifestyle clothing brand that speaks to the heart of our desire for freedom.During this chat Dare will share more about:
How to lead a brand revolution - You may remember a time before surfwear was big business. If you do, then you'll remember the brand that started it all. Mambo - iconic, brash, bold and colourful. It proved that surfwear could be more than just boardshorts and singlets and in doing so created an entire industry of fashion clothing. And now Dare Jennings, the man who started it all, has done it again with Deus Ex Machina, a rapidly expanding global motorcycle and surf brand. If you're in the business of disruptive change, this is the perspective you need.
How to lead a global business - What happens when you start a humble clothing line and wind up an icon of Australian counter-culture? Or when you decide to build retro motorbikes and discover that Italy has a deep and abiding passion for your product? The answer is simple: go global. Leveraging his insight into Australian culture, Dare Jennings has created two uniquely iconic Australian exports without resorting to cultural cliches.
How to lead culture from the front lines - When you visit Dare Jennings, you're not ushered into a sterile office to talk with a disconnected CEO. Instead you're transported into a world that feels a little like a Steve McQueen movie; this is the showroom floor at Deus Ex Machina. Dare isn't a disconnected leader - he's on the frontlines of the culture war. The one where your brand goes global? or disappears forever. Dare knows his customers, knows who they are and who they perceive themselves to be. He has fine-tuned the atmosphere to appeal to the deep-rooted desires of the male psyche, and is well aware of the contention his products cause in many men's better halves!
Plus many more insights, learnings & stories from Dare's experience being at the centre of business, culture & art for the last 40+ years!
Following on from the talk, we will have exclusive access to Mason's Backroom where you can meet fellow United Founders members and where we will serve Nusa Cana rum inspired classic cocktails, Kura Kura beer & premium canapés from Mason's Backroom Selection.
